Nitin Rao
Nitin Rao is an alumnus of the StartingBloc Fellowship (London Business School, 2007) and the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT-K) Surathkal (2008). His interests lie at the intersection of economics, business and development. Nitin is passionate about education for low-income communities and deferred an MBA admittance at the MIT Sloan School of Management to join the efforts of SKS Microfinance to create a branded chain of schools for the poor. He has earlier been involved in strategy for The Spark Group, an MIT/Yale education startup, and published papers on Indian education accepted by MIT International Review and the Harvard Project for Asian & International Relations Harvard On-Campus Conference. Arnab Ganguly
Arnab is a recent graduate of Engineering from M.S Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. He has a passion for carrying out research and has published papers in Scientific Journals. He has also applied for a Patent at the Indian Patent Office. He has worked on a number of projects working with Professors from Indian Institute of Science, Raman Research Institute, IIT Madras and MIT. He is a recipient of the “Encourage Talented Young Engineers” program and has served as a member of the student council for 4 of the last 5 years. He has strong views on the requirement of education as the basis for bridging the gap in today’s society along with social awareness and responsibilities of individuals.
The question is not, -- how much does one know when he has finished his education -- but how much does he care?
Vikram Subramanya
Vikram has a flair for research in computer science, specifically in the area of Artificial Intelligence. He is the recipient of Cisco IT Scholarship 2007 and a finalist at Lucent Global Science Scholar 2005. A summer intern at IBM Software Labs (Bangalore, 2007), Vikram has undertaken research projects at Otago University, New Zealand and at the Center for AI & Robotics, India. He has co-authored two papers at international conferences. Love for teaching has prompted him to handle a course for NITK freshman class. He has passionate views on gender equality in the society and promoting a greener world.
Vivek Agrawal
Vivek -- from Bhilai, the Steel City of India -- has recently graduated with a B.Tech in Information Technology from NITK Surathkal. He enjoys challenges and taking initiative. He believes that engineers have the potential to better use their time in socially constructive. He is motivated by the possibility that Engineers are better equipped to contribute to development of society. During his freshman year, he served as the elected Class Representative. He encourages people around him to minimize usage of plastics and wastage of electricity. Vivek is a regular hockey player and has a passion for teaching.
